Marianna Smith is a Brazilian-American children’s illustrator and editorial illustrator. Smith's cultural heritage and childhood memories inspire her work. She is passionate about telling empowering stories for multicultural audiences.

Smith graduated from VCUarts in 2020 with a BFA in Communication Arts and a Creative Writing minor. Smith is currently attending Syracuse University to obtain an MFA in Illustration. Smith teaches children’s illustration at Virginia Commonwealth University.
